This is the 26th Art Festival in San Marco. Around 30 artists will pitch their tents in Balis Park for this two-day free Art Festival in the middle of historic San Marco Square. For this event traffic is not blocked off around San Marco Square and free parking is plentiful so our patrons can come and go freely. The art for this festival is carefully selected and includes paintings, sculpture, woodwork, glasswork, and hand-made jewelry by local and regional Florida artists.

Nestled along the historic Hendricks Avenue in the heart of San Marco, Jacksonville, Aardwolf Brewing Company finds its unique home within the walls of what was once the South Jacksonville Utilities building, an ice factory constructed in 1927 during the heyday of the railroad era. Fast-forwarding to the present, the Aardwolf Taproom & Brewery now calls this historic ice house its home.

Join the San Marco Preservation Society and the San Marco Bookstore for the monthly Story Time in the Square, taking place on the first Saturday of each month from 10-11 A.M. in Balis Park.

Kids of all ages are welcome, but stories will be geared towards our littles. Feel free to bring a chair or blanket, but don’t forget your imagination at home!Seating will be first come, first served, and the event will be held in the gazebo area, rain or shine (major weather systems excluded).

The 29th Annual Festival of Lights 5K is a unique fundraising event that benefits the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of Jacksonville. The streets of beautiful San Marco will be lit up as thousands of runners, walkers and strollers take off during this nighttime, winter race. The evening includes a 1-mile fun run and a 5K race for families and individuals of all ages and abilities. Proceeds from this event benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals program which supports UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Register today to help change kids’ health so we can change the future.

Have you been looking for a jumpstart to your fitness routine this Summer? Sometimes you just need a little nudge to get going. Join Bitty and Beau's and Linton McClain of Superior Body Sculpting as we kick off our monthly "Fitness in the Park" series to get our communities moving again. No experience required. Everyone is welcome. Exercises will be fun and engaging for all ages and fitness levels. Put this event on your calendar and we look forward to you joining our movement for a healthier Jacksonville.
Instructions and modifications will be provided for all fitness levels. Just show up. We will do the rest. Community is where we belong.

Hot Spot Power Yoga has partnered with the San Marco Preservation Society to offer FREE yoga to our amazing community!
Our first class will be Saturday, September 23rd at 9am in Balis Park. The class will be all-levels outdoors in the park. Plan to bring a yoga mat, water and anything else you need for a workout!
This will be an inspiring practice for new yoga practitioners and experienced yogis. Come enjoy the beauty of our neighborhood!
This class is completely free thanks to the generosity of the SMPS.
